Character bowls and my summer of turning day 5
Can you see a face inside this bowl?
Sometimes in my finished pieces I can see things in the grain of the wood like seascapes, mountains, trees, planets and sometimes even faces. In the bowl above I can see a face. The eyes, nose and mouth. I guess it’s a good thing that I can’t see ears sticking out, huh? Can you see the face in the bowl above?
This bowl is 9 1/2 inches in diameter and almost 4 inches high. It has a rounded rim and a ring of texturing about an inch down on the outside wall of the bowl.
