17 Inch Spalted Curly Maple Salad Bowl closeup of texture
This is bowl number 3 of the 100 bowls in 100 days challenge. Today’s bowl is a commission for a wedding present. Thank you LW of New Hampshire for allowing me to make this bowl for the special couple. This Spalted Curly Maple wooden salad bowl is 17 inches in diameter and 6 inches high. This is a big bowl and should feed a large crowd. Just like yesterday’s bowl this bowl also features a wide flat rim that slopes toward the center of the bowl. And the rim on this wood bowl is also undercut to making gripping this bowl easier.
The lines from the spalted wood add a nice touch to the Curly Maple. This is truly a beautiful wooden salad bowl and I hope that the bride and groom like it.
