Bowl 12 of 100 bowls in 100 days challenge
I knew when I started this challenge that my biggest problem could be writing a post everyday showing a bowl that I had finished that day. The turning of the bowl isn’t a problem. I can do that easily and I feel really at ease at the lathe in my shop. I’m not so much at ease writing about what I’m doing. Anyways I’ve fallen behind by a few days here so over the next few days I will have to catch back up to where I should be.
I’m also thinking about doing a contest and giving away a bowl when I reach a certain milestone. Do you like the idea of a contest and what do you think the contest should be?
This is bowl #12 from Sunday. This wooden salad bowl is 17 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 inches high. The bowl was turned from spalted Curly Maple and has a lot of nice figure. The bottom is 5 1/2 inches and is turned slightly concave so that the bowl will sit evenly on your table or counter. The bowl has a undercut flat rim that slopes gently into the center.
