Bigelow pen in Caribbean Swirl Acrylic

This is day number 2 of my summer of turning. Maybe I should call this the summer in the life of a turner, what do you think? Anyways today I’m showing a beautiful pen that I just finished up. I started this pen during a demonstration at the Western Mountain Woodturners last meeting. During the demo the short piece of acrylic on the bottom half of the pen came loose or unglued. So I brought it home and glued it back together and then finished turning and polishing it. I assembled it yesterday and shot pictures of it today.

The pen is a beautiful combination of blues with a fitting name, Caribbean Swirl. The acrylic almost looks like waves in the ocean. You can see more pics and read more about it on my Dailey Woodworking site, here, or in my Etsy store, here.
