Gold Katahdin Pen made in dyed blue Box Elder Burl

Product Description
This is a very beautiful pen. The body of the pen is made from wood and I hand turned this pen on a lathe. The wood is Box Elder Burl that has been dyed blue. Box Elder is usually cream colored and where you can see the natural color of the wood coming through the blue, the burl was to dense for the dye to penetrate. This gives the pen a very striking look. The pen measures approximately 5 1/2" long by 5/8" diameter. The plating is gold. The pen uses a Parker refill and comes in the box that you see pictured. This pen is truly one of a kind.

The barrel of the Katahdin pen is a perfect fit for someone that is looking for a pen that is a little larger than normal but it's not so big that it's clunky in your hand.

The Katahdin style pen has a smooth operating twist mechanism. To operate the pen, simply twist the top to the left or right. The pen uses a Parker™ style refill. You can also use a Parker™ style gel refill.

Every pen we send out comes in a black pen box and is accompanied by a short note detailing the pen’s components; as well as the particular refill that’s needed, and instructions on how to install that refill.

The pen pictured is the pen that you will receive.

I have been turning for over 20 years now. I taught myself how to turn by making pens. I have never tired of making them and I have now made thousands of pens. I still get a thrill each time that I apply the finish to my pens and get to see the finished product for the first time.
